New York - The Bombers (26-8) defeated Skidmore 3-2 in the quarterfinals of the NYSWCAA Championship Tournament hosted by New York University. Game scores were 30-24, 30-23, 27-30, 28-30, 15-12. With the win, Ithaca - seeded third in the tournament - advances to play second-seeded Nazareth in tomorrow's semifinals. Match time is 10 a.m.

In the Skidmore match, sophomore setter Corinna Doctor (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) recorded a career-high 69 assists and added 21 digs. Senior outside hitter Amanda Hubbard (Horseheads/Horseheads) led the Bombers with 25 kills and also recorded 30 digs.

Senior defensive specialist Mary Schaefer (Eden/Eden) led Ithaca with 32 digs. Sophomore Jen Heberton (Darien/Darien, Conn.) recorded 16 kills, four blocks and a career-high four assists.
